The Kentucky Derby, also referred to as Kyderby, is an annual event traditionally hosted by former voluntary moderator Aimster. After her departure it was continued by former voluntary moderator Sabaei, former Support Specialist Rimanah, and currently voluntary Veteran Moderator @Misthios.

Based on a real-life horse racing event with the same name, the Derby revolves around the concept of racing across player-made tracks, which have been selected through a contest. The Kentucky Derby is typically hosted around the first Saturday in May, similarly to its real-life counterpart, and lasts for a duration of 24 hours to allow people in all time-zones a chance at participating in the races.

Each year a Kentucky Derby World Building Contest is hosted, and the top 20 player-created racetracks are used to conduct the races throughout the event. Winning this building contest and winning a race during the event are the only ways to obtain a Mint Julep.
