Growch

This is an NPC, or a non-player character.

Be terrified by the horrible Growch! Visit GROWCH to cower in his shadow (Can also be found on GROWCH1, GROWCH2, GROWCH3, etc.. Similar to GROWGANOTH)

"The Growch has a teeny tiny black heart. He hates giving, kindness, and holidays. Maybe, if we all give him Winter Gifts... he'll learn what the holidays are all about. Plus, he might give us some stuff in return, so rock on."

The Growch is an NPC present during WinterFest in the world GROWCH. While the Growch is unhappy, players need to form a global team effort to unlock new WinterFest items. The goal is to level up the Growch's heart by giving him Winter Gifts. Once enough gifts are given, the Growch's heart will grow, new items will be unlocked, and players will no longer be able to give him gifts for some amount of time.

Players can give the Growch a Winter Gift by tapping him with the item selected. If a player tries to give the Growch any Winter Gift while he is leaping for joy, he will happily decline the offer and return the Winter Gift to the player.

Parkour

As of WinterFest 2015, a parkour section has been added above the Growch. Once completed, the player may either choose to go to the Icy Heart Pickup, which will reward them with an Icy Heart Of Winter as long as they haven't already had one in their inventory, or visit the Nutcracker to purchase some exclusive items in exchange for World Locks.

Giving Trees

Several Giving Trees can be found surrounding the Growch. Players are able to chop them down with a Lumber Axe to obtain the trees themselves, leaving Giving Tree Stumps behind. These stumps may regenerate back into Giving Trees after some while.

Trivia

The Growch's name and design is based on the Grinch, a fictional character who is best known as the main character of the children's book How the Grinch Stole Christmas!.
Giving a total amount of 100 Winter Gifts to the Growch will give the player the Spirit of Giving achievement.
The Inviso-Block is used to make a solid body for the Growch in order to allows player to stand on him.
If a player tries to use a consumable other than the Winter Gift in the GROWCH world, a message will pop out, saying: "The Growch says NO."
As of WinterFest 2018, the Pumpkin Pie has been added, granting a food buff mod which doubles the points per Winter Gift given to the Growch.
